Lyngblomsten breaks ground on new senior living community campus in Lino Lakes
ST. PAUL, Minn. (November 10, 2021) — Lyngblomsten, a Minnesota nonprofit senior services organization, today announces the start of construction on a new continuum-of-care campus in Lino Lakes, Minn. A ceremonial groundbreaking was held on Nov. 9, 2021, at 3 p.m. and was attended by about 80 people, including Lyngblomsten board directors and staff, city officials and project partners, along with a handful of those who have reserved a unit.
Building on the success of its senior living campus in the Saint Paul Como Park area, Lyngblomsten is expanding into Lino Lakes after a multi-year planning process. The 20-acre site will be home to 20 detached rental townhomes and a multi-level senior living building that will include 96 independent living apartments, 34 assisted living apartments, 17 memory care units and an array of amenities. A second phase will add a skilled nursing wing.
“Today marks a major milestone in the progress of Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes,” said Jeff Heinecke, President & CEO of Lyngblomsten. “We are building on a legacy of concern for the quality of life for older adults that began more than a century ago. When we open our doors to the first residents of our Lino Lakes campus, it will be 110 years since our founding women welcomed the very first residents to the Saint Paul campus.”
“Lyngblomsten’s state-of-the-art facilities will transform the future of senior living to enrich the journey for many older adults, right here in Lino Lakes,” said Lino Lakes Mayor, Rob Rafferty. “Our community of Lino Lakes couldn’t be prouder as a partner.”
The project’s design is led by Wold Architects and Engineers, a Saint Paul-based architectural and engineering firm with senior living design expertise. Grand Real Estate Advisors is serving as development advisor, with Weis Builders as construction manager for the project and Dane Allen Homes overseeing construction of the townhomes.
Along with the variety of housing options offered at Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes, residents can leave the campus and venture into the city to discover local favorites and explore nature trails, lakes, parks and golf courses.
Financing for the project is provided by Choice Bank and the Mission Investment Fund of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).
Lyngblomsten’s campus in Lino Lakes is located at Hodgson Road and County Road J. Completion of the townhomes is expected in fall 2022, and completion of the multi-level senior housing building is expected in late spring 2023.
