11/18/2021 Update: Booster shot clinics held this week for Lyngblomsten residents, tenants, employees, and Essential Caregivers
November 18, 2021
As 2021 comes to a close, Minnesota unfortunately is experiencing another spike in COVID-19 cases. Here on the Lyngblomsten campus, we’ve only identified a handful of new cases in our care center residents, housing tenants, and employees over the past several months. Still, with the highly contagious Delta variant, we know this could change, which is why we’re continuing to follow all guidelines from federal and state health agencies for mitigating the spread of the virus. Symptom screening, mask wearing, PPE donning, hand washing, and social distancing are part of daily life for our community.
One encouraging development is that CVS Pharmacy was on campus this week to administer booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine to our residents, tenants, employees, and Essential Caregivers. (A couple photos from our booster shot clinics are available here on our Facebook page.) Getting as many people vaccinated is a critical component for curbing the spread of the virus on our campus.
As of this week, 94.2 percent of our care center employees are fully vaccinated against the virus (up nearly four percentage points from one month ago). As Lyngblomsten prepares to implement the federal government’s vaccine mandate for healthcare workers, we continue to encourage all our employees to get vaccinated for their own safety and for the health of our residents, tenants, participants, and campus visitors.
